Your Thoughts
First Idea
At UMBC they have a station called WMBC. While I was working there one of the things they emphasized was new music. As soon as they got it it was reviewed and put in the studio. DJs were required to play 3 station song an hour. It really worked out well because in playing these new tracks so much they got all the most sought after cds. They were trusted to give it an honest review and get their DJs to push it.
We have the format music in itunes on the new mac pro, but if we had more information about the new music and even a top 10 list for each genre how many song would you play an hour?
How many station songs would you play an hour?
Another idea
Put all the music we get in at the station online for your listening pleasure. Pick your favorite tracks. Then send them to hello@wvcw.org. Each week new tracks will be added. The genre will be the date they add, so listen to the stuff we get in that has a date upcoming. Ie. This week (16th-22nd of June) you would listen to 6/23 and 6/24.
As a recap, first you go to anywhere.fm with the username wvcw and password wvcwradio.
Next, listen to tracks with dates upcoming in their genre (check the recently added playlist).
Finally, compile a list of artist and track names that you want to hear on WVCW and send them to hello@wvcw.org. After a week of collecting votes we’ll add the most popular tracks and artists.
Try and keep it as FCC clean as possible.
