If you missed the Student Media Center open house on Wednesday, don’t worry – you have another chance to learn more about who we are, what we do, and how you can become involved. VCU’s Fall Semester Student Opportunities and Volunteer Organizations event (SOVO fair) will be held today, Friday August 21, between 3-6 PM in the Siegel Center. Please drop by if you’re interested or want to know more.
Completely unrelated to that, but important to announce – WVCW will be getting a new website within the next month or two. This is out of a desire to have a site that accurately represents the station, as well as have the ability to support more features, such as multimedia sections with original content and space for each department to inform you of what they’re working on. More info coming as soon as we know.

Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday!
Today, Wednesday August 19th, will be the Student Media Center’s Open House from 4-6 pm.
This is your chance, if you’ve always wanted to get involved with not only WVCW, but also the CT, Ink, Poictesme, or Amendment to come and meet those that work with these media sources; possibly going home with a boatload of information on not only how to become involved, but also what would be expected of you if you did.
We highly suggest you drop by the SMC (817 W Broad St.) between 4-6 today to check everything out… and there will be food!
Hey y’all.
It’s Tom here, announcing the first Full Staff Meeting of the 2009-’10 academic year. It will be, as usual, in the back conference room of the Student Media Center at 8pm on Monday, August 17th. Be there or contact me at hello@wvcw.org to let me know why you won’t if you cannot attend. Of course, try to be there, there’s tons of new things happening and you shouldn’t miss out!
-Tom, out!
Check out our new Job Market page. It’s for those of you who need workers and those of you who need a job.
