Richmond, Va. – It was a beautiful Saturday night for a soccer game at Sports Backers Stadium. There was not a cloud in the sky. VCU Ram’s Men’s soccer team played the Davidson Wildcats. VCU started out aggressive with a corner kick by Jorge Herranz.

During the first half, VCU had six shots and one shot on goal. Davidson had three shots and two shots on goal. VCU’s goalkeeper Pierre Gardan had two saves during this half. Davidson’s goalie Matt Pacifici had only one save.

VCU’s Dennis Castillo scored a goal at the 60th minute during the second half off of a free kick just at the top of the box. Davidson had a shot to send the game into extra time late in the game, but the shot was just wide.

VCU improves to 4-6-2 (2-0-1) with seven points in the Atlantic 10. Davidson is 3-6-3 (0-3-0) in the A10 as they remain in last place in the A-10 with zero points. VCU’s next home game will be next Saturday against the Duquesne Dukes.
