Richmond, Va., – The VCU Rams Women’s Soccer team kicked off the season defeating in-state rival Old Dominion Monarchs 4-2 in their home opener. Four different Rams got their first goal of the season, three of the players being underclassmen.

Sophomore Megan Dell scored the first goal of the game unassisted at the 15th minute. The Monarchs did not score until the 58th minute when Kathryn Hill scored off of a free kick assisted from Madison Hogan. VCU then went on to score three more goals to pull away from Old Dominion capped off with a laser from 30 yards by freshman Kelly Graves.

The VCU Women’s Soccer team returns to action this Sunday when they host the Marshall Thundering Herd at 1:00.
