Dan Ream from VCU Libraries brings a motley assortment of undiscovered musical gems, novelty tunes, music by VCU and Richmond musicians, and great old stuff that you’ve probably never heard to his weekly show on WVCW. While some of the music played may also be available at VCU Libraries, Dan draws mostly from his personal “bottomless pit” of a musical archive at home. Styles range from ukulele music to heavy metal and comedy and show tunes. Dan guarantees you’ll find something great that you’ve never heard in each week’s episode. Also, look for Anarchy From the Archives on Facebook.
On-Air Time: Wednesdays, 5:00pm – 6:00pm
Host: Dan Ream, from VCU Libraries
About Dan:
Dan Ream is an Associate Professor and Director of Outreach & Distance Education at VCU Libraries, and a past-president of the VCU Faculty Senate. Dan has worked as a librarian at VCU since 1986. After several years serving as a faculty representative on the Student Media Commission, he was invited to bring his bizarre Christmas and Halloween music collections to WVCW’s “Rock Island Line”, where he guested on several holiday episodes. Having enjoyed those shows immensely, he’s now back for more.
