“Hip Hop, It started out in the park” , Now its just about everywhere from IKEA commercials to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, but with so much abundance in hip hop music its hard to find good music. This show does just that, we search high and low for the greatest songs and play them just for you.

Hosts: Deric Brown and Tim Downing
Deric Brown, the self-proclaimed Hip-hop Nerd, grew up in Northern VA and was exposed to several types of music through the means of his Father who was a DJ. After buying his first Rap album in 4th grade he became fascinated with the music. In 2006, he landed an internship at a local radio station for the Peter Rosenberg Show.
After the show was cancelled he decide to go to school to pursue a career in Broadcast Journalism.

Tim Downing was born in Richmond, VA and has lived here his whole life. He was introduced to hip hop in 4th grade when he pickedup Eminem’s The Slim Shady LP. Not allowed to listen to it because of my parents, Tim had to hide his music until high school when he became so hooked into the lyrical aspect of hiphop/rap genre that he didn’t care what other people thought. Ever since, Tim has been discovering new artists and my ipod tracklist has been growing.
He now studies Mechanical Engineering at VCU and does homework while bumpin to the lastest mixtapes and albums.
