About the host: Joel is an ex-drummer, an ordained Minister, and enjoys drinking slurpees from a 64 oz. Xtreme Gulp. When asked how he got the name “Mr. Xcitement” he looks off in the distance and tells a long drawn out story about a slurpee, poledancing, and a lady named Roxanne. He is currently a creative advertising major in the school of Mass Comm here at VCU and is currently working a “day job” as WVCW’s program director. Along with his “night job” as the “Rated-R Megastar” he has made guest appearances on WVCW programs such as Episode Number, Midday Marauders, The Classic Carpet Ride, Rock Island Line and The Horned Ewe.
About the Show: The Rated-R Circus is a music show that specializes in rock ‘n roll, but isn’t above any other genres of music. On top of that, Mr Xcitement will chime in providing a comedic, and at some points satirical, viewpoint of today’s pop-culture by finding the lines that one shouldn’t cross and tries to push them further. The Rated-R Circus has been quoted on Itunes as “it tastes yummygood and it’s especially tasty with oatmeal on the side.” and “smells bad like vodka tastes good like red wine.”
