Each week, I come up with a theme that unites all the songs I pick for the show. Some of the themes I've done in the past were songs about dreams, songs about time, songs with animals in the title, and a sci-fi themed show. I also pick a title based on a song to introduce the theme (the show with songs about animals was named after "Animal" by Neon Trees, the one about dreams named after "Dreamer" by Laufey, etc.). I introduce each song with a paragraph of research about it, such as sale or chart statistics, and any fun facts about the songwriter or production of it I come across. I only pick songs I have on vinyl, and often mention where I picked up the record. I love to shout out local Richmond record stores! I'm always building my record collection, so I frequently visit record stores to find new bands and albums to play, and make an effort to pick songs from the lesser played ones already in my collection. I also never repeat a song within the same school year.
