The VCU Rams revealed their 2019-20 non-conference hoops schedule, which kicks off against St.
Francis on Nov. 5. Five teams that appeared in the NCAA Tournament last year, including one that went
to the Elite Eight, comprise part of the schedule.
On the heels of a 25-8 season where the team clinched the outright Atlantic 10 conference title in the
regular season, the Rams return many of their starters and look to further improve on Mike Rhoades’
successful sophomore season.
Among the returners are standout senior guard Marcus Evans, fellow senior guards De’Riante Jenkins
and Malik Crowfield, senior forward Issac Vann and junior forward and big man Marcus Santos-Silva.
LSU head coach Will Wade makes his return to the Commonwealth on November 13, marking the first
time he’s been back at the Siegel Center since departing the same position at VCU in 2017.
The Black and Gold’s first non-conference neutral game will be on November 29, as the Rams visit
Purdue, with a matchup the next day between either Florida State or Tennessee, depending on the
winner. They’ll return home on December 7 for a faceoff against rival Old Dominion.
Currently scheduled away games include both Charleston at Wichita State, both in mid-December.
