Here is our first DJ Spotlight! This week, we’re featuring Courtney Miller host of Courtney’s Queue WVCW. Read her interview and be sure to check out her show Thursday’s, from 8pm to 10pm.

What is the name of your show and how did you come up with it?
I came up with the name ‘Courtney’s Queue’ last year when applying for my specialty show because I figured I needed a real show name and alliterations are always a great way to go.

How long have you been a DJ?
I’ve been a DJ since Fall of 2015

What do you talk about during your show?
I don’t necessarily stick to particular topics. I pretty much just talk about things that have happened to me in the past week that I’ve been pondering. But I do try to dedicate at least one talk break to film discussion and one break to music news each show.

What kind of music do you play on your show?
I think part of the appeal of my show is that I don’t stick to a particular genre; I play an eclectic mix. I’ve been trying to do a different genre/vibe each week, though. For example, I did all folk the other week but I’m going for a shoegaze-esque playlist this week.

Who are your favorite musicians?
Currently I’d have to say Radiohead, Björk, My Morning Jacket and Hiatus Kaiyote

What is your favorite album?
In Rainbows- Radiohead

What is your favorite song?
I don’t really have an answer to that question. I can’t choose an all-time favorite, but right now it’s probably All We Have Is Now by The Flaming Lips off of Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots. I’ve been really into that album lately.

What was your favorite concert you’ve been to?
Probably Radiohead at MSG for their A Moon Shaped Pool tour

Why did you join WVCW?
I’ve wanted to be involved in college radio for years. Unlike other radio stations, college radio shows are so eclectic and it’s an amazing resource for discovering music that’s new to me.
