Frontwoman Liza Grishaeva resists taking credit for the sound of Liza and the Hearttakers, insisting it is in the practices that the songs come together. Even in the cramped, muggy office the group’s chemistry is undeniable; every member fills their space, the edges blurring until all four coalesce to create songs that are unable to be pinned down by a single adjective but more complex and twisted-up in the way life really is.
