A soldier accused of taking a tank on a 65-mile joy ride from Fort Pickett to downtown Richmond last summer violated the terms of his bond recently by researching bomb-making and traveling to Iraq, according to Richmond Times-Dispatch. 30-year-old Joshua Phillip Yabut of Virginia Beach was out on bond awaiting trial for charges associated with stolen tank which resulted in a police pursuit. Court documents show he traveled to Iraq earlier this year, according to a report prepared by the Virginia Fusion Center, a state agency aimed at terrorism and criminal activity.

Ralph Northam signed a bill into law that curbs unwanted telemarketing calls to people who have stated they don’t want to be reached. That law makes it illegal to call phone numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry, as well as phone numbers where the person has previously stated they don’t want to be solicited by that business. The law takes effect on July 1.

The Federal Aviation Administration is saying the flight path data of the two Boeing 737 MAX 8 planes that crashed showed similarities. The FAA issued the emergency order three days after an Ethiopian flight on a Boeing 737 MAX 8 crashed and killed 157 passengers on board.
