Yesterday afternoon the Rams hosted the Bison of Bucknell in field Hockey. VCU out shot by Bucknell 8-4 in the first half but trailed 1-0 after a goal from Brittany Willwerth. VCU started the second half off strong with some good attack’s but the Bison hit right back with some of there own. We had a barnstorming fourth quarter with VCU going all for it, resulting in first for the Rams and first for Litiana Field’s this season. Sophomore Fields was voted Second team all Atlantic 10 last year and is a captain this season and ready to take the Rams to new heights. Brittany Willwerth scored both goals for the lady Bison yesterday, one in the first and one in the fourth quarter. To the contrary of the score VCU outshot Bucknell 14-12 overall and 9-5 in shots on goal. The Rams had a 9-7 advantage in penalty corners as well but couldn’t come up with the goods. 3 brilliant saves by the Bison goalie is really what did the Rams in yesterday. On another day the Rams easily win 4-2. VCU falls to 1-2 for the season with there next game against William & Mary at home, Friday September 13th.
