Rams tame the Wildcats

The VCU men’s soccer team handled the Davidson Wildcats easily Wednesday night, riding a wave of momentum from senior midfielder Luc Fatton’s hat trick to win 4-1. Fatton’s first two goals came in the first half, with his third in the latter half of the game, and sophomore defenseman Ryo Shimazaki added a goal of his own in the second half. Davidson’s only goal came nearly fifteen minutes into the second half of play, but VCU’s defense shut down the Davidson offensive attack early and often. Freshman goalkeeper Mario Sequeira notched his fourth win of the season, needing only one save to do so. Additionally, Fatton started the offensive momentum early, scoring his first goal under five minutes into the game.
