Defense reigned supreme in today’s men’s soccer exhibition between the VCU Rams and North Carolina State Wolfpack as both teams fought for 90 minutes for a goal. NC State midfielder, Zach Knudson, scored the only goal of the match at the 29th minute to give the Wolfpack the lead and the victory 1-0.
The goal by Knudson was unassisted as he was able to capitalize off of a scramble after VCU goalkeeper, Garrett Cyprus, made a save and the ball was loose behind him.
VCU opens the regular season Friday, August 28 when they host #25 Akron Zips at 7:30 pm at Sportsbackers Stadium.
