The Rams played the Flames today at The Diamond where they lost 6-1.
The first two innings went by relatively fast with neither team able to put a run on the board. Liberty got their first RBI in the 3rd inning from Aaron Anderson to put the Flames up 1-0. VCU tried to respond as they were able to set up 1st and 3rd bases but weren’t able to capitalize on the opportunity.
The Flames got their second and third RBIs in the 5th inning as the Rams struggles continued. Liberty scored 3 more points, one on an error by 2nd base and two on an RBI in the 6th inning to go up 6-0.
It wouldn’t be until the final inning that VCU was able to get an RBI from Will Carlone.
VCU ended the game with only 3 hits and 1 run.
The Rams will try to bounce back as they will face Old Dominion Tuesday at 3 p.m. at The Diamond.
