Women’s Tennis beats Temple

By: Jordan Adams

VCU Woman’s tennis started the 2020 season in the best possible way… with a clean sweep. The lady Ram’s defeated the visiting Owls of Temple yesterday 4-0. Juniors Melissa Ifidzhen and Kanako Yano started the day off with a doubles win defeating Oyku Boz and Yining Tian 6-3. The Lady Rams earned the doubles point after Senior Noumea Witmus and sophomore Paola Exposito Diaz-Delgado took care of Rine Nozaki and Cecilia Castelli 6-1. Young Ram Gabriela Ana-Maria Davidescu earned her first ever collegiate singles win. The freshman defeated Yining Tian 6-0, 6-3. The Rams will host the Orange of Syracuse this afternoon starting at noon at the Thalhimer Tennis Center.
